Vigils planned across midstate for victims of Pittsburgh shooting
(Harrisburg) — People across the midstate plan to honor the victims of this weekend’s shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue that killed 11 congregants and wounded six others, including four police officers.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg is hosting a vigil at Harrisburg’s Jewish Community Center at 6 p.m. Monday. It is open to the public.
Penn State’s Chabad and Hillel will host a candlelight vigil at 7 p.m. in front of Old Main.
A ‘Vigil against Hate’ is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. at York’s City Hall. Organizers say it’s to support Jewish and law enforcement friends and neighbors.
In Berks County, a community prayer service is slated for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom and Kesher Zion Synagogue in Wyomissing.
