All Things Considered Host/Journalist

Are you looking for a position that challenges you to expand your skills as a multi-platform journalist? Join WITF’s nationally recognized newsroom in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, as our All Things Considered Host/Multimedia Journalist. You will be the afternoon voice in Central Pa. on our presentation of All Things Considered while taking a multimedia approach to sustaining connected, contextualized reporting on policies and trends impacting communities in our region. Plus, you will have the opportunity to cover the 2020 election in a key battleground state.

The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and one year as an on-air host in a fast-paced environment or a commensurate amount of experience. The successful candidate should possess the ability to work independently, while producing excellent journalism. The reporter must be comfortable producing content for radio and the web, be able to produce high quality photographs to supplement their stories, have knowledge of audio editing software, and have the ability to appear at community engagement events.

Part Time Production Crew

StateImpact Pennsylvania Reporter

StateImpact Pennsylvania is a national award-winning multimedia, data-driven reporting collaboration that focuses on covering the fiscal and environmental impact of Pennsylvania’s booming energy economy, including natural gas drilling. We are increasingly focused on reporting at the intersection of the state’s fossil fuel industry and climate change.

StateImpact is a partnership among WITF, WHYY in Philadelphia, The Allegheny Front in Pittsburgh, and WPSU in State College. Broadcast reports are heard on public radio stations across Pennsylvania and periodically on NPR. StateImpact Pennsylvania has a dedicated website that has become a “go to” site on energy issues in the commonwealth. The collaboration has been recognized with a 2013 duPont Columbia Silver Baton and multiple RTDNA Edward R. Murrow Awards.

WITF is hiring a reporter to continue to build on the initiative’s strong track record. This position is funded by a one-year grant.  Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of reporting experience with radio/on-air experience along with 2 years of experience reporting on government and political news. Executive Assistant to the President

WITF is seeking an organized professional with excellent administrative and people skills to serve as the Executive Assistant to the President/CEO.

This person will provide confidential administrative support to the President, including scheduling meetings both internally and externally, preparing correspondence, making travel arrangements, and interacting with staff, board and donors. They will also serve as the secretary to the Board of Directors for WITF, a select group of community and business leaders.

Board responsibilities include the scheduling of board and committee meetings and the preparation of board materials and minutes. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and computer skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with tact and sound judgment.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years in an administrative role or comparable experience.
