Midstate restaurant supply company plans expansion

(Harrisburg) — A midstate company says it will create at least 400 new, full-time jobs in Pennsylvania’s coal region.

Governor Tom Wolf today announced online restaurant supply company WebstaurantStore, Inc. plans to construct a new fulfillment center in Columbia County.

Lititz, Lancaster County-based WebstaurantStore has purchased land in Hemlock Township to build a 586,000-square-foot distribution center to serve the Mid-Atlantic and New England region.

The company has pledged to invest at least $33 million into the project.

“We are very excited to expand our presence in Pennsylvania with our new distribution center in the Bloomsburg area. As our rapid growth continues, we are pleased to make a long-term commitment to be a part of the Columbia County community,” said Dave Groff, president of WebstaurantStore. 

WebstaurantStore received an $800,000 state grant for the expansion, and is slated to get $800,000 more in job creation tax credits.

The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team, a group that reports directly to the governor and works with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania.
