‘He just wanted to come home:’ Family wants answers after death at York County Prison

(Undated) — Everett Palmer Jr. had an all-American childhood.

He grew up in Queens, New York, as part of a blue-collar family of lifelong civil servants. He played football, baseball, and, his favorite, basketball. Following in the footsteps of other family members, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division.
