(Undated) — There could be a huge football conference brewing in District 3.
Officials from Berks County Interscholastic Athletic Association approached the Lancaster-Lebanon League about joining forces, according to lancasteronline.com.
If it happens, the football-only league would become the largest in District 3 at 37 schools — 24 from L-L and 13 from Berks. It would leapfrog the Mid Penn Conference’s 27 football teams and 23 in York-Adams.
L-L officials, who lancasteronline.com said gave a “lukewarm reception” to the idea in a first read-through, will discuss the proposal again at their February meeting. They can vote on the proposal at that time, deny the request or table it.
