Tom previously covered economic development and housing issues at PublicSource in Pittsburgh. Before that he worked at the Herald & Review in Central Illinois, where Tom undertook special projects on everything from cancer rates to water supply management while covering city government. Tom graduated from the University of Illinois Springfield with a master’s degree in Public Affairs Reporting.
