Penn State students get help in drug and alcohol recovery
Newsrooms across the commonwealth have spent years documenting the opioid crisis in their own communities. But now, in the special project State of Emergency: Searching for Solutions to Pennsylvania’s Opioids Crisis, we are marshalling resources to spotlight what Pennsylvanians are doing to try to reverse the soaring number of overdose deaths.

(State College) — Danielle Dormer is a mother and Army veteran in long term recovery from drug and alcohol use. She uses her experience to help Penn State students, serving as the Assistant Program Coordinator for the Collegiate Recovery Community. She talked with WPSU’s Cheraine Stanford for Take Note as a part of State of Emergency: Searching for Solutions to Pennsylvania’s Opioids Crisis.
