(Undated) –A midstate horse rescue that was founded in 2013 is in danger of closing from lack of funding, according to a press release.

Pennsylvania Racehorse Rehoming, Rehabilitation and Rescue (PARR) is located in Harrisburg. The volunteer organization takes in horses with medical issues and retired Thoroughbred racehorses.

Now, PARR needs $10,000 to stay open, the press release said. That money would cover rent payments for PARR’s farm and help provide hay, feed and medications for the horses.

“This is a situation no rescue ever wants to find themselves in, and it was sort of a ‘perfect storm’ of things coming together at the wrong time that created it,” PARR Volunteer and Board Member Bryan Langlois said.

special website was set up to give to PARR. People can also send donations via PayPal to parradoptions@aol.com or mail them directly to PARR at 1008 Piketown Road in Harrisburg, Pa. 17112.
