Outdoor dreams become reality in PA for those with disabilities

(Harrisburg) — An outdoors club is giving those with disabilities the chance to expeience hunting and fishing in Pennsylvania.

The group is called “Pap’s Shed Outdoor Club” and for several years now, they have been helping those with disabilities or serious illness bag that buck or land a big trout.

John Beck, with Pap’s Shed, remembers the first trip which was given to a 10-year old boy with brain cancer.

“We took him up to Whitetail Haven up in Lykens, and they gave us a discounted rate, and he shot a pretty decent buck,” Beck said.

At this point, the effort is still small – with only 2 or 3 participants a year, but Beck hopes that donations to the cause can boost their efforts in the years to come.

For more information on the group, you can see their Facebook page under “Pap’s Shed Outdoor Club.”
