The preseason All-American ranks fourth in the nation in yards from scrimmage at 182.7 per game with five touchdowns. Jewell is also a preseason All-American and the Hawkeyes’ leading tackler. The two are likely to collide frequently Saturday night as No. 4 Penn State visits Iowa City.

(Iowa City, Iowa) — The 4th ranked Penn State Nittany Lions open their 25th season as a member of the Big Ten conference tonight in Iowa City when they face the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Both teams are undefeated at 3-0 through the non-conference part of their schedule.

Both have quarterbacks that have posted impressive numbers thus far.  Iowa’s Nate Stanley has averaged 218 yards passing per game with 10 touchdowns and only one interception.  The Lions Trace McSorley averages 251 yards with 9 touchdowns and two interceptions.

Penn State features running back Saquon Barkley who is one of only two players in the country averaging more than 200  all-purpose yards per game.

Iowa counters with a pretty good back of their own in Akrum Wadley, but their team leader is on defense.  Senior Linebacker Josey Jewel leads the team in tackles and is considered one of the top defenders in the Big Ten.

The revenge factor will no doubt be in play for this one.  Last year Penn State pounded the Hawevyes at Beaver Stadium 41-14.

Kick off is at 7:30pm at Iowa’s Kinnick Stadium.
