(Gettysburg) — A single vehicle crashed into a building overnight in Gettysburg Borough, according to Adams County 911.

The accident occurred at approximately 2:43 a.m. on the 100 block of York Street, a dispatcher reported. The damaged building’s upper floor collapsed and housed an unoccupied apartment; Li’s Buffet occupied the lower floor of the building.

Gettysburg fire chief Hurshel Shank said that two people were in a pickup truck, and that police are currently looking for one of the occupants who fled scene. The other occupant was trapped for 90 mins, Shank reported.

Life Lion Critical Care helicopter transported the extricated occupant to York Hospital.

The occupant was talking during the extrication, but there is no current word on their condition, Shank reported.

York Street will be closed for hours while a structural engineer assesses the damage to the building, a report from the scene indicated.

Numerous fire departments responded to the scene, including the York County Technical Rescue Team, according to 911.

The vehicle was towed from the scene at approximately 6:00 a.m. Friday.
