Sirens test set for Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station tomorrow

(Delta) — A midstate nuclear power plant plans to conduct a test of its emergency warning sirens tomorrow afternoon.
Exelon Generation says the semi-annual, full volume test of the system surrounding Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station in Delta, York County, will take place at 1:00 p.m.
The emergency warning siren system consists of 97 emergency warning sirens in the 10-mile radius around Peach Bottom.
The purpose is to alert people to tune to an Emergency Alert Broadcast Station for information.
But during the test, the Emergency Alert Broadcast System will not be activated.
The Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station is located on the west bank of the Conowingo Pond along the Susquehanna River.
It’s home to two boiling water reactors, capable of powering more than 2.25 million homes and businesses.
Both reactors began commercial operation in 1974.
