(University Park) — Penn State will be looking for a little revenge when they host Illinois this afternoon at Beaver Stadium.
The Nittany Lions are coming off a nailbiting 31-30 win over Maryland last week while Illinois comes in on a two game losing streak at 4-3.
Penn State Head Coach James Franklin says the Illini have size and experience.
“They’ve got 21 junior or senior starters on their team. That will be a challenge for us. They’re big and physical. Their one defensive end is six-foot-six and 295 pounds. They are big and strong,” he said.
An interesting matchup today should be Penn State’s defense, that can really get after the quarterback, versus an Illinois offensive line that has allowed just 8-sacks this season, tops in the Big Ten.
The Illini won last year’s game on a field goal with 8-seconds remaining.
Kick-off is scheduled for noon.
