(Carlisle) — Using a state grant, Dickinson College researchers are studying three lakes in Cumberland County.

The short-term project will aim to provide information on the lake’s ecology and examine how storms affect water quality.

High-frequency sensors are already in place at Laurel and Fuller lakes in Pine Grove Furnace State Park, along with Opossum Lake in Lower Frankford Township.

The sensor data will be analyzed in September.

As part of the grant from the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, signs will also go up around the lakes with information about them.
