Smart Talk: Finding missing adults in PA

Kortne Stouffer, Missing since July 29th, 2012.

What to look for on Smart Talk Monday, June 8, 2015:

Thirty-seven adults have been reported missing in Pennsylvania since 2010.  Twenty-five men are missing since then and 12 women.

Kortne Stouffer of Palmyra in Lebanon County is one of them.

In what may be the most publicized missing person case in Central Pennsylvania ever, the then 21-year-old went missing from her apartment on July 29, 2012.  One of the reasons the Stouffer case has been out in front of the public as much as it has is Kortne’s parents have never stopped trying to find their daughter or find out what happened to her.

There is a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to finding Kortne, there have been posters, vigils, psychics, a search of Memorial Lake near Fort Indiantown Gap, and many tips and reports.  So far, nothing has led to finding Kortne or getting the truth.

Missing children may get most of the public’s attention, but it can be just as painful for the family and friends of an adult who is missing.

Monday’s Smart Talk looks closer at missing adults in Pennsylvania, what’s being done to find them, and if there’s anything you can do to help.

Kortne Stouffer’s mother Wendy appears on the program, along with Pennsylvania’s Victim’s Advocate Jennifer Storm and Todd Matthews Director of Communications & Case Management for NamUs.
