(Harrisburg) — For the second time in the past six months, the state is extending its rebate program for vehicles fueled by batteries, natural gas and other sources besides gasoline.

Lynda Rebarchak with the state Department of Environmental Protection says the money isn’t just available for cars.

“Folks can get $500 rebates for electric motorcyles and scooters. We do see that, it’s not as popular, but it is something that some of the younger consumers may be interested in,” says Rebarchak.

Grants are worth up to $2,000, depending on what kind of vehicle is purchased.

About 100 rebates remain.

The program will end when the limit is reached.
