Hundreds of organizations across the country are findings way to bring attention to the issue of sexual violence during the month of April — Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

A new non-profit group in Lancaster hopes to garner that attention and to educate through the arts.

the planet project and its current campaign Hu-MAN Up are taking on what they provocatively call “rape culture” with an event called Becoming Human: Words and Images to End Rape Culture.

the planet project describes rape culture as one that uses images, TV shows, commercials, and advertisements to make women sexual objects.

Adele Ulrich and Ray Manlove appear on Wednesday’s Smart Talk to discuss the event.

Also, the deadline to enroll in the healthcare exchanges under the Affordable Care Act was Monday. With a last-minute push, more than seven million Americans purchased health insurance.

The enrollment period came with six months of controversy over the law and technical problems with the website used to sign up.

Jessica Lynch, a certified application counselor with Healthy York Network joins us on Wednesday’s show to talk about the enrollments, the last few days before the deadline, and what happens next.
