Pending storm to start as snow, end as wintry mix

(State College) — On the verge of another weekend, another winter storm is expected to hit the midstate. Forecasters have been tracking across the country and expect it to arrive late tonight or early tomorrow morning.

A winter storm warning goes in effect for the entire witf listening area from 5:00 a.m. tomorrow until 4:00 a.m. Sunday.

Rob Radzanowski, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in State College, says it’s expected to start as snow.

“During the day Saturday looks to be the prime time to see some accumulations down that way and we may see a couple of inches of snow,” he says, referring to the Harrisburg and Lancaster areas.

“It does transition to a little bit more of a wintry mix Saturday night.”

Most of the region could get three to six inches of snow, capped off a mixture of ice, freezing rain and sleet. Mifflin and Juniata counties could get between four and eight inches of snow.

The system will likely make its way out of the midstate on Sunday.
