RST: PA Archives preserving history; Fall foliage report
What to look for on Radio Smart Talk, Friday, October 4, 2013:
1681 charter
Regular listeners to Radio Smart Talk know the program often focuses on history and how we as Americans or Pennsylvanians got to where are today.
The most Pennsylvania history under one roof is housed at the Pennsylvania State Archives in Harrisburg. From the 1681 charter from King Charles II of England to Pennsylvania’s founder William Penn to birth, death, marriage, tax, and land records, the Archives documents the Commonwealth and Pennsylvanians’ history.
Pennsylvania State Archives Director Dr. David Haury appears on Friday’s program to answer questions and discuss the state’s collection.
Also, the leaves on the trees have begun to change color and it won’t be long before Pennsylvania will be orange, red, and yellow.
