Radio Smart Talk: CO2 levels raise alarm, Dr. Michael Mann explains

Radio Smart Talk for Friday, June 7:

Dr. Michael Mann, one of the world’s renowned climate scientists, will appear on Friday’s Radio Smart Talk.

Last month, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reported that the amount of carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere had passed 400 parts per million on average. Scientists have long viewed that as a milestone on the way to a warmer climate. To put the reading into context, scientists said it could be the highest level of CO2 in the air in three million years — even before humans evolved.

It also left many in the science and environmental communities saying steps being taken around the world to reduce the burning of fossil fuels are not having as much impact as needed to cut CO2 levels.

Dr. Mann will explain how the Earth could be affected by the rising carbon dioxide levels and if there still is time to reverse climate change.
