As warehouses boom in Berks County, officials plot Route 222 expansions to keep up
PennDOT plans to spend roughly $90 million, in part, to widen Route 222, a major thoroughfare dotted by warehouses.

The midstate is a hot spot for warehousing jobs because of lower labor and land costs than neighboring states and it’s close to major population centers.
