Sickle cell disease; understanding the inherited disorder
Sickle cell disease is an inherited blood disorder that affects the shape of the blood cells. According to the Bobbi Engram Foundation, Sickle cell disease affects an estimated 100,000 people, the majority of whom are African Americans.
