Southern cities slammed by winter storms that left millions without power for days have traded one crisis for another: Busted water pipes ruptured by record-low temperatures created shortages of clean drinking water.
“We know millions of people are suffering,” ERCOT’s president and CEO, Bill Magness, said in a statement Wednesday. “We have no other priority than getting them electricity. No other priority.”
The National Weather Service reports extremely cold temperatures ranging from -5 to 3 degrees is predicted through at least noon on Tuesday for all of North and Central Texas.
Regional rail service was suspended in Philadelphia after Isaias raised the Schuylkill River and sent an unsecured construction barge into a bridge.
