The rally comes after immigration enforcement held thousands of Haitians under a bridge at the southern border, then deported or turned back the majority without allowing them the opportunity to claim asylum.
August has been a deadly month for Haiti. A 7.2-magnitude earthquake, followed by a tropical storm, killed more than 2,000 people and left thousands more injured and homeless.
