The families of those kidnapped are from Amish, Mennonite and other conservative Anabaptist communities in Pennsylvania, five other states, and Ontario, Canada.
The rally comes after immigration enforcement held thousands of Haitians under a bridge at the southern border, then deported or turned back the majority without allowing them the opportunity to claim asylum.
August has been a deadly month for Haiti. A 7.2-magnitude earthquake, followed by a tropical storm, killed more than 2,000 people and left thousands more injured and homeless.
