CDC offers clearest guidance yet for reopening schools
For politicians, parents and school leaders looking for a clear greenlight to reopen schools, this is not it.
The School District of Philadelphia plans to allow children enrolled in pre-K through second grade — about 32,000 students — to return to the classroom two days a week starting Nov. 30, though some schools may not offer face-to-face learning if enough parents or teachers opt out.
The district said it experienced an unexpected delay in computer and tablet deliveries, though in July it had said that most of its purchases were backordered and that some might not arrive until October.
Parents across the commonwealth have a lot of questions about how to navigate school safely during a pandemic.
The administration this week released additional guidance.
As school districts evaluate strategies for reopening, some in the midstate plan to begin the academic year with a hybrid model.
