All elections are significant. Reflecting the polarization in this country, today’s elections seem to have taken on a feel of a battle for your soul  – no matter what office is being contested. Who would have thought that school board or judicial races would be battlegrounds or get as much attention as they do? Even those contests have been swept up in the culture wars.

So, a low-turnout, off-year primary election Pennsylvania is watched closely by the nation.
