Monday was Martin Luther King Jr. Day – a national holiday commemorating Dr. King’s birthday. There were be memories of Dr. King and the civil rights movement he led in the 1960s and many used the holiday as a day of service to their communities.

However, generations of Americans have grown up since Dr. King was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4th, 1968. They may not know what he did and what he stood for.

Joining us on The Spark was Joseph Robinson Jr. – a community leader himself and former head of the Martin Luther King Leadership Council. Mr. Robinson talked about Martin Luther King Jr – the Man, the Myth, and the Martyr.
