The Medal of Honor is the United States’ highest military decoration. Just over 35 hundred medals of honor have been bestowed upon heroes since the Civil War.
A new book – Against All Odds – A True Story of Ultimate Courage and Survival During World War II tells the story of four of them from the same unit. The four men — Maurice “Footsy” Britt, Michael Daly, Keith Ware and Audie Murphy earned the Medal of Honor by risking their lives with almost superhuman efforts to fight enemy troops.
New York Times best-selling author Alex Kershaw wrote the book and is on Thursday’s Smart Talk.
