High Industries – based in Lancaster – is one of Central Pennsylvania’s and the nation’s most successful businesses. High Companies employ nearly 2,000 workers in 11 infrastructure businesses at 38 locations in six states. The company’s 2021 revenues were about $570 million.

Last week, S. Dale High and the High family announced the transfer of family ownership of High Industries to the High Foundation, meaning millions of dollars in company profits will go back to local communities.

The announcement describing the move said “profits will be invested in the High Foundation for the good of the community, toward initiatives that address poverty and community transformation, cultural and economic vibrancy, and collaboration and social innovation.”

Appearing on Thursday’s Smart Talk are S. Dale High chair emeritus of High Industries and the High Foundation and Robin Stauffer, Executive Director of the High Foundation
