(Bloomington, Indiana)  — The Penn State Nittany Lions finally open their 2020 college football season today in Bloomington, Indiana against the Hoosiers.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Penn State is playing it’s latest season opener since World War I.

The Lions return 17-starters from last year’s top-10 squad including quarterback Sean Clifford and tight end Pat Freirmuth.

Unfortunately Penn State will be missing two of it’s stars.

Linebacker Micah Parsons opted out this season to prepare for the NFL and running back Journey Brown is dealing with an undisclosed medical condition that could force him to miss the entire season.

Indiana is coming off an 8-win season, the most for the program since 1993 and their welcoming back star quarterback Michael Penix who missed half of last year with a injury.

Indiana is 1 and 22 all-time against Penn State.

Penn State is a 6.5 point favorite in this one.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 this afternoon.
