(Philadelphia) — Authorities say a man fired at officers trying to take him into custody, then barricaded himself in a building and was later killed in a shootout with Philadelphia police.
No one else was hurt in the exchange of gunfire.
Area schools were placed on lockdown during the standoff.
Thursday’s shooting took place five months after a barricaded gunman shot and wounded six Philadelphia police officers in a standoff that lasted more than seven hours.
