(Washington) — Actress Sally Field, singer Linda Ronstadt and the seminal disco-funk band Earth Wind and Fire will be honored in a gala ceremony Sunday night in Washington as recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime achievements in the arts.
They join conductor Michael Tilson Thomas and long-running children’s TV show “Sesame Street” in this year’s class.
Once again, the attendance of President Donald Trump had been an open question.
Trump skipped the past two celebrations, and multiple recipients threatened to boycott the first event if he attended.
The White House says neither Trump or first lady Melania Trump will be there Sunday night.
