(Harrisburg)– Detectives in Berks County are investigating a police-involved shooting.

The county District Attorney’s office said, early Wednesday morning, two Reading police officers were investigating a string of recent robberies when they identified a person of interest driving an SUV.

They pulled over a man identified as Alberto Leon Jr.

During the traffic stop, the officers allegedly saw him reach toward his center console.

One told detectives he saw Leon had a gun.

The officers fired two shots into the SUV as Leon sped away.

Police chased Leon to an apartment building where they took him into custody hours later.

No one was injured in the incident.
