Wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain greet morning commuters

(Harrisburg) — The midstate is dealing with a wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain this morning.
A winter storm warning is in effect until 4:00 p.m. for Adams, Lancaster, and York counties, 6:00 p.m. in much of the region, 9:00 p.m.tonight for Columbia, Northumberland, Schuylkill, Snyder and Union counties, and midnight for Berks County.
Dozens of schools have delayed the start of classes or closed for the day.

The National Weather Service in State College says by this afternoon, the total sleet accumulation will be four to six inches.
PennDOT has placed restrictions on some interstates.
Commercial vehicles are banned on Interstate 70 from the Maryland line north to the Pennsylvania Turnpike and on Interstate 99 from Interstate 80 to the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Certain vehicles won’t be allowed on the turnpike between the New Staunton and Carlisle exits.
The turnpike is also prohibiting commercial vehicles on long sections of interstate in eastern and central Pennsylvania.
Speed restrictions are also in effect.
