(Harrisburg) — The former treasurer of a midstate youth sports league is facing felony theft charges.

The state Attorney General’s Office said Wayne Crecelius, 53, of Camp Hill, is accused of stealing more than $19,000 from the Cedar Cliff Youth Baseball Association.

Prosecutors said the thefts occurred between March 2017 and September 2017.

Crecelius allegedly endorsed and cashed numerous checks made out to himself, made cash withdrawals, made unauthorized purchases at grocery stores and failed to deposit cash collected from player registration and various fundraising events.

Crecelius’ preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday, December 20. He was released on his own reconnaissance.
