A winter storm is expected to bring snow and sleet to central Pennsylvania on Thursday.

The National Weather Service in State College is forecasting light snowfall, ranging from less than 1 inch accumulation in Lebanon to 3-4 inches in Chambersburg. Most parts of central Pennsylvania are likely to receive 1 to 2 inches of snow.

Snow will likely begin falling on the region Thursday morning, followed by a mix of snow and sleet in the afternoon. The system is expected to move out of the region by midday Friday.

The weather service emphasizes there is high uncertainty in precipitation type and amounts at this point. Check for the NWS website for weather advisories and updates.
