‘I was murdered and I’m still alive:’ Sexual abuse survivors rally to expand laws

(Harrisburg) — Taylor Ecker stood outside the Capitol in Harrisburg Monday afternoon, determined to tell her truth on her own terms.

Sexually abused from the ages of 5 to 9, Ecker, of Boyertown, Berks County, joined dozens of others who have that shared experience as they rallied at the capitol building ahead of a possible vote on legislation to allow past victims of childhood sexual abuse to sue their abusers.

Monday night, lawmakers and survivors planned to gather at the capitol for another rally and a vigil.
