(Undated) — Three targeted raids at Mexican restaurants in Franklin and Adams counties on Wednesday resulted in 11 arrests, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.

The Montezuma Mexican restaurant locations on Buford Avenue in Gettysburg, Walnut Street in Waynesboro and Wayne Avenue in Chambersburg were the subject of a “targeted enforcement operation,” according to ICE officials.

The 11 individuals were found in violation of immigration law and are detained at York County prison pending immigration proceedings, according to ICE officials.

“ICE regularly conducts targeted enforcement operations during which additional resources and personnel are dedicated to apprehending deportable foreign nationals,” ICE officials said.

Sweeps or raids are not conducted indiscriminately, according to ICE officials.

“ICE’s enforcement actions are targeted and lead driven,” ICE officials said. “ICE conducts targeted immigration enforcement in compliance with federal law and agency policy.”

Attempts to reach the restaurants’ owners were unsuccessful.

The Gettysburg location announced it was temporary closed, but will be “back for business soon” through a Facebook post on Thursday.
