Absentee ballot deadline Tuesday

(Harrisburg) — The deadlines for applying for and submitting absentee ballots for the May 15th primary elections are fast-approaching.

The deadline for applying for absentee ballots is Tuesday May 8th, according to Pennsylvania Department of State Commissioner of Commissions, Elections and Legislation Jonathan Marks.

“Voters can get the forms from their county election office or they can go right to our website.  We have a fillable version of the form there so folks can go in, type all of their information and then they just have to print it out, sign it and mail it to the county election office,” Marks said.

Voters who will be away on business or vacation or for other reasons on May 15th are eligible to apply for and receive absentee ballots, as are those who are ill or disabled.

Marks expects 30,000 to 40,000 absentee ballots to be cast in the May 15th primary elections.
