(Harrisburg) — The National Weather Service continues to issue a winter weather advisory for our area until 4 this afternoon.

A frontal system coming from the midwest is responsible for a wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain throughout the midstate this morning.

Most of the state of Pennsylvania is being affected by the storm in one form or another.  The northern regions of the state are getting more snow.

Temperatures remain well below freezing and icy spots are quick to form on area roads this morning.

PennDOT has issued travel restrictions on most major roadways throughout south central Pennsylvania.

Speed limits have been reduced to 45mph on I-81, I-83, I-78 and routes 283, 322 and 15.

Motorists are being urged to use extreme caution.

Warming conditions will lead to rain and a high of 40 degrees this afternoon.
