Winter weather advisory goes into effect overnight

(State College) — A cold snap has settled over the midstate, with snow and freezing rain potentially heading to the region overnight.

The National Weater Service in State College says a winter weather advisory will be in effect tomorrow from 1:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Wind chills today will be as low as two below this morning.

Periods of freezing rain, sleet and snow are likely to arrive in the region tonight into tomorrow. 

The majority of the region could see an inch of snow and ice accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch. Columbia County could get up to three inches of snow.

Temperatures will creep into the low 40s by tomorrow afternoon.
