(York) — Two men have been charged with homicide in relation to a York man’s shooting death last week after the man’s body was found dumped off of Interstate 83, according to police.

Kevin Brightful, 27, of York, and Luis Quinones, 28, of Brooklyn, New York, are both charged with murder in Shannon Martin’s death, Pennsylvania State police said on Wednesday night. They also face charges of abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and carrying a firearm without a license.

Last Friday, police responded to a gravel path adjacent to Interstate 83, off the north side of Route 216 in Springfield Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. A passerby reported seeing a body there.

It was later determined that Martin, 36, of York, had been shot several times.

Police learned that Martin and Quinones got into a “scuffle” inside Brightful’s home in York, state police said in a news release. Gunfire erupted and Martin sustained several gunshot wounds.

Quinones and Brightful are then alleged to have loaded Martin’s body into a car and drove it to the gravel path off the interstate, police said.

It is not immediately clear from the news release what time the scuffle took place and what time they took Martin’s body in the car. But the news release lists an incident time of 4 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 12.
