Lebanon helicopter crash injures 1

Emergency crews were dispatched to Deck Airport for a helicopter crash shortly after 11 a.m on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. Two people walked away from the crash with minor injuries and the airport was expected to be closed for at least 48 hours, according to officials.
(Lebanon) — A helicopter crashed on landing at Deck Airport in Jackson Township Wednesday morning.
Two people were on board when the helicopter crashed shortly after 11 a.m. A woman escaped unharmed and a man suffered a minor cut on his arm, according to EMA dispatch reports.
The woman was an instructor who was teaching the man how to pilot the aircraft, state police public information officer Trooper David Beohm said.
Beohm did not have the names of the man or woman.
“They were doing a maneuver, and had to go in for a hard landing,” Beohm said.
Beohm explained that state police will only secure the site of a crash and that the full investigation is conducted by the Federal Aviation Administration. Beohm had no other details about the crash.
An FAA representative said Wednesday they could not release information about the crash.
The crash is the second in recent months at the airport located at 398 S. Ramona Road.
In December, a single engine plane bound for Illinois crashed in foggy conditions. The pilot and three passengers suffered injuries and were hospitalized.
