(Harrisburg) — It’s been a battle between spring and winter over the last few weeks in southcentral Pennsylvania and at least for today, winter will be the winner.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until 7pm tonight.

Snow could be heavy at times during the morning hours Saturday and snow showers are expected through most of Saturday afternoon.  Snow accumulations in the mid-state are generally expected to be 2 to 4 inches for counties east of the Susquehanna River and just a coating to an inch for counties west of the river.

Snow is expected to taper off late this afternoon.

Though most snow accumulation is expected to be on grassy surfaces, slush and reduced visibility could result in some hazardous driving conditions.

PennDOT is urging motorists to use caution in their travels.

The sun comes out on Sunday and temperaures are forecast to rebound to a more spring-like 60 degrees on Monday.
