Pennsylvania Society is an annual, swanky event in New York City.
Lobbyists, politicians, business leaders, and more all chat it up at parties and fundraisers.
But yet, the state doesn’t have a budget.
It’s Day 164 without a budget, as a matter of fact.
Eric Epstein, a government reform advocate, will take about whether lawmakers should be in Harrisburg, not New York City.
Gene editing is starting to get attention.
Lancaster native Sam Sternberg is at the forefront of the groundbreaking research, which allows scientists to change human’s genetic makeup.
But what does this mean?
The Berkeley biochemist will explain, and discuss the ethics of gene editing.
StoryCorps, which you hear Fridays on Morning Edition on WITF, put together a project called the Great Thanksgiving Listen.
It was a chance to talk to a grandparent, or any other family member about an experience.
Tens of thousands of interviews were recorded and uploaded through a simple app.
Some in the midstate participated, and two will join us: Hershey High School teacher Brianna Crowley, and junior student Ava Helm.
