CAT says unscheduled overtime is dropping

(Harrisburg) — Capital Area Transit says it’s saving money because fewer employees are calling in sick or taking personal days.

The public transportation provider, which serves Dauphin and Cumberland counties, says unscheduled overtime has fallen by more than 41 percent since September.

General manager Bill Jones points to a new labor contract, along with employees’ efforts, in helping to reduce overtime costs.

CAT is the third-largest transit authority in Pennsylvania.
