Lyme disease cases double in the city of York in a year
(York) — Lyme disease cases are skyrocketing in the city of York.
Through July, sixteen cases have been reported in the city, doubling last year’s total.
The disease is caused by blacklegged tick bites that can sometimes show a bull’s eye rash, but also go undetected.
Treatment for Lyme can include prescription drugs, but a strain of the disease can linger for years, causing severe fatigue and headaches.
