(Lewisberry) — Win or lose this weekend, the Red Land Little League baseball team will be welcomed home in style.
The Fairview Township, York County Police Department says police, fire and EMS agencies plan to welcome home the team and provide them with an escort through their hometown.
While the plans are subject to change, police say the escort route will be down Bridge Street in New Cumberland, then down Old York Road through Fairview Township into Newberry Township. The escort will then lead the team onto Lewisberry Road, then up Route 177 into Lewisberry. The escort will end at Red Land High School.
Police are encouraging residents and fans along the route to cheer the team home, but to do so safely and stay off the roadways.
Police say those wishing to welcome the team at Red Land High School are advised that parking in the area is limited and carpooling is encouraged.
More information is available at the Fairview Township Police Department’s website.
The exact time of the escort is still to be determined but police believe it will probably take place sometime between 8pm and 11pm Sunday night.
