York Mayor C. Kim Bracey was elected 2nd vice president of the Pennsylvania Municipal League at their annual business meeting yesterday.

The election and swearing in was held at the Renaissance Allentown Hotel. Lancaster Mayor J. Richard Gray was elected president and and Altoona City Council member Bruce Kelly was elected 1st vice president.

Bracey had previously served as the legislative co-chair for the league. That position showed her commitment to local government advocacy and most likely led to her nomination to the board of officers, said Debbie Bitting, the league’s communications director.

Established in 1900, the league’s core goal is to “strengthen and empower local government,” Bitting said, including through lobbying for bills supportive of urban government and against bills that are not.
