Wounded Veterans on the Road to Recovery

(Mechanicsburg) — A group of wounded veterans will be making a stop in the Harrisburg area on their journey to recovery and renewed independence.

The Road Warrior Foundation is leading a group of 8 veterans injured in service on a rehabilitating adventure trip down the Eastern United States. They’ll ride on three-wheeled Spyders that can be adapted for their particular needs.

Road Warrior co-founder Craig Anders says it’s an emotional experience for the vets as they take control and focus on their abilities…not their disabilities.  “It”s about breaking down limits and showing people that most of these veterans, whether they are hurt, injured or wounded, they’re still very capable individuals.”

Anders says a big part of the trip is connecting riders with the people they sacrificed for.

The veterans will be stopping for a rally at the Lower Allen VFW Post this afternoon between 4 and 5 o’ clock…and they welcome people who want to come out and hear their stories.
